50's Highway Fountain

I love it when we can be so random and drive out to Laupāhoehoe on a wednesday night to check out a restaurant that we pass every time we head out to Kona or Kohala. It is a tiny 50's themed restaurant. We have always wondered how it was but never made an effort to stop. Usually it was because we were on our way to the other side of the island and needed to be somewhere, or we were on our way back from the other side of the island and just wanna get home. Well, thanks to some people posting about it on Facebook, and because we always want to try something new, and because we have wonderful friends that want to try new things too, we made a trip out there, and on a wednesday.

It was really tiny. There was one other family there, and they were already leaving. But the staff was very friendly and the food was deliciouso. I forget what everyone had, but I think Kristen and I had the same stuff. Cheeseburgers (mine had barbecue sauce and bacon), fries, maybe onion rings too, and a rootbeer float. And to top it off, we also had dessert. Tai had a huge banana split, and Kristen and Ryan shared an apple crisp, while I had my own. We all didn't finish our desserts, oh wait, Tai did.
