So we start off with one nurse trying to get me an IV. Pokes one arm, oh can't find it. Pokes the other arm, oh can't find one on this side either. "Um, I'll have the next nurse try." So the next nurse on-duty comes in and tries another spot. NOPE! And then finally she gets it. OMG!
Like I said above, with Kahanu I don't remember any pain. I don't remember feeling a thing, except for my body shaking while the drugs were waring off. But with this one, it felt like they were jumping on my belly trying to get him out. It wasn't like it hurt a lot but it was still sore. And then I hear the doctor yelling at someone and I hear the words "contaminate" and "we need to fix this." And then Tai tells me that even when they asked him to cut the umbilical cord the guy passing the scissors dropped it. LOL! I laugh now, but on the video they just all kind of pause in a panic. They waited till later to do it.
ANYWAYS! Our little bundle of joy was born on Aug. 1st, at 8:52am. He weighed in at 8 lbs, 6 oz., just 3 oz. smaller than Hanu. He was 21 in. long, all ten fingers and ten toes, and a nice set of lungs from day one. Here is our healthy baby boy, Kekuaola Toshiaki Makanui.

A day to remember. And those lungs...
Cheehuuu! Good job! Great creation! Reminds me of a verdant mountain for some reason, where all thrives and grows.
Definitely a day to remember.
