When on Hawaiʻi island, you will probably hear these little buggers at night. I remember when we first started hearing coqui around our house. It was so hard to go to sleep. That was all you could hear. It was deafening. You would think hearing just one would be better than hearing 20, but you would be wrong. It takes some getting use to, but eventually you stop noticing it, until someone mentions it. Hahaha.
Even though you hear them all the time, you hardly ever see them. They are tiny. So it was funny that Tai saw one outside our apartment. We set it on our ʻōhiʻa, took some pics, and then Tai took it to a nearby tree. I still can't believe the noise these little things make.
