Starting Solids

I was so excited about him making 6 months. It meant that we could start him on solids. Our sitter asked if we started and we told her that we were gonna wait till after his checkup just to make sure. The Doc gave the go-ahead so I was excited. But since it was the middle of the week, we would wait till the weekend.

We dropped him off at the sitters after his checkup and went back to work. I had to go to pick him up with Tai because our sitter wanted to show me the consistency of the cereal to feed him. So on our way there, I say to Tai, "We better feed him tonight so that I can do his first feeding." And we pull into the garage and she shows me the cereal and then goes, "Oh here, let me show you how to do it." And she feeds him his very first spoonful of baby cereal. =(

So yeah, I don't have a video of his very first feeding. =( But he did really well. No mess at all. I imagined him spitting it out, or having it all over his face. But her technique was flawless. And this boy makes it too easy.

So here is a video of his SECOND feeding, FIRST from his mama. Remember how I imagined it?

And... take two.

Can you say O.C.D.?

Okay, I think I got it. Hold 'em down!

YAY!!!! So now he eats rice cereal mixed with water and applesauce. That is all that we have fed him. But he has had squash and lamb too at the sitters. I think we should try some okinawan potato next. =)
