All Good Things Must Come To An End

Maternity leave was awesome but too short. There should be a law that allows women to stay at home, with pay of course, for at least a year. I am very appreciative for the ten weeks that I was allowed, but it seemed to have gone by in the blink of an eye and it was time for me to return to work.

After being with Kahanuola all day, every day for all that time, I knew that it was going to be hard. I was counting down the weeks, which turned into days too quickly. It was so difficult to accept that someone else would be spending all that time with him and that I would miss so much. But it was either that or probably lose the house. SHUCKS!!!

I had to suck it up as best that I could. I didn't do too well. I cried my eyes out the evening before until my head ached. I continued the next morning all the way up until we were in the garage of the babysitter, Aunty Cindy. She hugged me and said that he would be fine. Sure, but what about me??

It was a tough day at work. I cried a lot at the beginning of the day. I just needed to keep busy to get through it. Before you know it, Tai was picking me up. I am always happy when it is time to leave work, but I was absolutely giddy when my work day was over.

We picked him up and he was already bathed and sleeping. Aunty Cindy said that he had a wonderful day. He was an angel. According to his daily journal that Aunty writes, he slept and ate well, and had too many BM's to count. Hahaha. I felt so much better. I hope that he continues being an angel.

This is what he looked like when we got home. Didn't miss me at all. Hahaha.

Awwwww, Mommy, I feel your pain, it's so hard to go back huh? Reading this literally brought a tear to my eye, remembering how I felt on my 1st day back to work. One of my friends @ work asked me if I was crying, but me being the hard ass that I am said "Pssssss.... NO! My allergies are acting up". Only a year ago, I admitted to her that I was crying.

ʻĀnela...till we get home. Nah, he good boy.

First day was hard. No one was in the office for a while, so I could just let it out. Just had to keep busy. Now I'm all good. Just miss him when I not busy.
