My cousin Chris told us about it. His daughter, Kamaile, the little cutie patootie, was in the play and it was the last weekend, so we had to try and make it. The only thing was Bebe. And because Nana was doing a craft fair, we had no other choice but to take him with us. Oh boy!
The play wasn't in Hilo, it was in Volcano and we bought 2:30p matinee tickets. We made sure that he took a nap so he wouldn't be so cranky, and we also made sure we had some food for him to eat before going in. Well, he took an hour nap before we left, and then slept the whole 45 minute drive there. Even though I know he was rested, I was worried that maybe we should have kept him up and have him sleep through the play. Oh well, only one way to find out.
So when we got there, instead of our little picnic that I envisioned, we had to stand in line because it was open seating. So while waiting to get in, we were feeding him some musubi. But was rice enough? Oh boy!
We got in and he was good. Just sat on me. But when the orchestra started playing, he got scared and went into panic mode, grabbing his burp cloth and sucking his thumb. But his panic only lasted a minute and that was it. He just sat there and watched the play with us, in silence. He never made a peep. I swear he was the best kid there. One ʻohana behind us ended up leaving because their little girl was crying, and you could hear other kids talking throughout the play, but Bebe, he was so good.
We fed him some more during intermission, and he sat through the rest of the play like how he was during the first half. Soooo good! Keep in mind, this play was about 2.5 hours. Yes. Props to my boy. He just amazes me sometimes. I guess they are right. Even though he can be rotten to the core with us at home, what counts is when we are out in public. =)
And btw, the play was wonderful. Such a great cast. And little Kamaile did so well. She is such a cutie. We are glad that they told us about it and even more happy that our little one let us enjoy it. Lion King next???? Hmmmm.

yup, he lets it all out at home, releases the build up. Usually the opposite happens at school, so well behaved and disciplined at home and let it all out in school, yikes.
And I have come to the last update of this series, :(
see you next series ;)
I hope that he continues on this path. Only show his makua his evil side.
Thanks for always commenting. You dont have to, but its nice to know that someone is reading my blog. =)
