Four Months

Can you believe that he is 4 months already? The time is just flying by. We took him to his 4 month checkup and everything seems to be good. He is now 16 pounds which is in the 75th growth percentile.  I thought he would weigh more. He sure seems heavier than that but I guess his weight gain is tapering off. He is now 25 inches long, in the 50th growth percentile. I forget his head circumference, but he was only in the 25th growth percentile. OH NO!!! Let's just hope it's all brains. =) But the doctor said that he is doing well.

He got 2 shots this round, both on the right thigh. Poor thing. He didn't take it as well this time. After the first shot, he screamed and started to cry and then the nurse poked him again. Oh boy!!! He was not happy. But he found his thumb and started sucking away. Poor baby. He was a little fussy, but he didn't run a fever. Yay!!!

Poor Takumi after getting his shots.

He is a very strong baby. Always showing off with his turning over skills. He doesn't care too much to be on his tummy. And of course after I tell the doctor this bit of information, he stays on his tummy with no complaints. But Tai figured it out. He likes the crinkling sound of the paper on the doctor bed. Gotta go get some of that. But I think he is slowly staying longer and longer on his belly.

His legs are very strong. He likes to stand up. And when on his tummy, he lifts up and looks like he is doing the downward dog yoga pose. Too funny. Nana, the babysitter, commented on how he wants to crawl already. Oh, and he loves his toes. When he is on his back, he likes to grab for his toes. So cute. Oh yeah, he grabs things now. =)

Holding his new toy on our long trip to Costco.

He is still sleeping through the night. Thank goodness. And we both actually go down earlier now. I think we, baby and I, have been going to bed before 9-9:30p. No night-owl Tanya anymore.

We recently made a Costco trip, which is a big deal. Our Costco is in Kona. Two hour drive each way. He did pretty well. If we didn't stop in Waimea he would've slept the whole ride there, but he woke up. But went right back to sleep after we started moving again. And he was good the whole time in Costco, another 2 hours. So patient. But he didn't want to eat before we left and what happened? He was screaming half way through our drive home. Good thing he takes a bottle. But other than that, he did well.

We also took him to the fair. Not a good idea. He wasn't too thrilled. I guess we have to learn to let some things go for now. Ooops! He wasn't fussing, but I think it might have been a little too much stimulation. So we zoomed through, picked up our food and left.

Not too happy.

He is a real joy and it is amazing watching him grow. I love this part. I'm in no hurry for him to grow up.

Poor baby! Nurses are BAD! I remember Aiko saying "Hi" to the nurse and big smile going into the room and after the shots, she refused to look at the nurse or even in her direction. She wasn't happy at all. Was sooo funny!

So he cried for one hour on the way back? :)

He is growing too fast :) Better come visit us soon!
Love you Hanu boi! and your parents, too. :)

I remember that story. Yeah, that's why the docs don't do it themselves. Nurses get a bad rep.

He didn't cry all the way. We stopped in Waimea so I could make his bottle and he was fine after that.

I'll let u know if we are gonna fly over.

Love u guys!
