Kahanuola is one of the very few names we had on our list. Hanu means breath, or to breathe. Ola means life. Tai really liked this name because it has a portion of his Hawaiian name (Keola). But we were still undecided. However, because he was having difficulty in the womb practicing his breathing, we realized that this would have to be his name.
His Japanese name was given to him by my Aunty Sonoko. It means skillful, adroit, dexterous, ingenious, and clever. It was between Takumi and Takahiro. Takumi sounded so original and was the first name she chose, so we took that one. Thank you, Aunty, for such a great name!!!
